Dear brothers and sisters!
I am very pleased that the Artistic Decoration Commission and
the Fund for the Financial Support for the Reconstruction of the Cathedral of Christ the
Savior have created a web page dedicated to the most important Russian Cathedral - the
Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
Let us rejoice that Russia, like the wise men, has brought a gift of love to the newborn
Christ Child. This is particularly significant today, when we celebrate the 2000th
anniversary of the Birth of Our Lord, which has become the guiding light of our era. The
Cathedral of Christ the Savior has arisen out of the ashes in all of its' glory right in
the heart of our capital.
The miracle of the resurrection of the Cathedral required several years of concentrated,
selfless and loving labor. The Cathedral now glorifies Christ and helps our long-suffering
people return to their spiritual roots - the Holy Faith of their ancestors.
I am certain that many Internet users will be interested in learning both about the
history of our Cathedral and it's current status. It is after all our Cathedral-Hero, our
Cathedral-Martyr; our Cathedral dedicated to the birth of Our Lord .
